Rainham sits low and open beside the Thames, and the weather comes straight off the marshes onto the front of your house. That is what render is for — done properly it sheds the rain, warms the wall and lasts decades; done badly it cracks, greens over and traps the damp it was meant to keep out.

What we do

Rendering, done properly

A wall you only pay for once.

Render fails for the same three reasons every time: the wrong mix, a wall that was never prepared, and no bead or bell-cast to throw the water clear. Get those right and a silicone render outlasts the mortgage. Get them wrong and it is cracked and green inside five years.

Simple & stress-free

Three steps to a finished wall

STEP 01

Tell us the job

Send a photo of the wall on WhatsApp — a wide shot and a close-up of any cracking tells us nearly everything we need.

STEP 02

We survey & quote

We come out, check the substrate and the damp, then give you a fixed written price — scaffold, beads, materials and making good all in.

STEP 03

Rendered & guaranteed

Prepared, beaded, rendered and finished to your colour, site swept, scaffold away — and the work guaranteed in writing.

Rendered to last, not just covered

Rainham gives a renderer three completely different jobs. The 1930s semis along New Road and Upminster Road South are almost all original pebbledash, now sixty or seventy years past its best — hollow in patches, cracked around the openings, and holding water against the brick behind it. Taking that off properly and re-rendering in silicone is the single biggest change you can make to one of these houses, in looks and in warmth. Then there are the older cottages and the terraces around Rainham Village and the church, where the substrate is soft and needs a lime-friendly approach rather than a hard sand-and-cement coat that will crack the brick. And at Beam Park there is new-build work — clean substrates, tight tolerances, and render that has to match a developer's spec exactly. Add the estuary exposure and every one of them lives or dies on the same details: strip back to something sound, bead the edges, mesh the weak spots, and set a bell-cast so the water throws clear of the wall instead of running down it. We survey first, price the whole job in writing with the scaffold in, and guarantee the work.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the front of my house go green?

Because Rainham sits low and open next to the Thames and the air is damp most of the year. Algae grows on any north or east elevation that stays wet. It is cosmetic rather than structural, it cleans off, and a breathable silicone finish holds it off far longer than old sand-and-cement did.

Will render stop my walls getting wet?

That is exactly what it is for here. A solid or tired cavity wall facing the marshes takes weather from one direction for decades. A flexible silicone render sheds it and lets the wall dry outward, rather than sealing damp in behind a hard shell.

Which areas around Rainham do you cover?

Rainham and nearby — Wennington, South Hornchurch, Beam Park, Elm Park, Rainham Village, Cherry Tree Lane and out toward Aveley and Purfleet.

How long does the scaffold stay up?

About a week on a typical semi — two to three days to strip and prepare, then rendering and finishing. Scaffold is priced in from the start, so there is no surprise bill halfway through.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes, guaranteed in writing, and we are fully public-liability insured.
